Hospitals and Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC) have been acute care facilities.  Now they are treating the chronic patient with Pain Management, Physical Medicine, Manual Medicine, Manipulative Medicine, and a host of other alternative care practitioners.

With all the recent changes in the health care delivery system, a new window of opportunity has opened and a new exciting level of practice opportunity for the Physical Medicine doctor is now here.

Hospitals. ASC. and medical pain management groups are inviting physicians trained in MUA to join their organizations to better serve the needs of patients with chronic conditions.

Treatment Protocols:

  •  A patient can be a candidate for MUA when the 6-8 weeks of conservative care in your office has not produced the desired results.
  • The patient will then undergo the MUA procedure daily for 3-5 consecutive days. This procedure is performed in a hospital or ambulatory outpatient surgery center.
  •  Post MUA treatment in your office includes adjustments and therapy daily for 7-10 days followed by 2-3 times a week for 2-3 weeks. Concluding with 3-6 weeks of rehabilitation therapy

When protocols are followed and patient selection criteria has been met, the results are extremely gratifying.
